Hope Bytheway is the pen name of Lorraine Watson, an English teacher, writer, and editor with a deep love for stories that weave together history, emotion, and quiet magic. She has spent over twenty years helping others find their voice through language, and now brings that same passion to her own fiction.

Wandering Strong is her debut novel, inspired by a fascination with forgotten voices, dual timelines, and the threads that connect past and present. When she is not writing or editing, she can be found playing the saxophone, singing, or sharing her home with four cats, one loyal dog, and far too many books (if that’s even possible).

Her mother was given the name Hope after her father died a month before she was born on Christmas Day. Bytheway was her grandmother’s maiden name, a quiet tribute to the women who shaped her, whose strength lives on in every story she tells.
